"I love teaching, and I love that I'm able to make a positive impact on the lives of the children in my kindergarten class. That's why it is so discouraging when state budget cuts mean my families will no longer have the funding to be able to attend all-day kindergarten classes. Or, when a program that dramatically improves my student's reading scores goes away because the federal grant that pays for it ends.
"Funding provided through the Friends of Renton Schools fund will help to extend the life of these programs that are proven to advance student learning. I'm grateful that my community values education and excited about the possibility of continuing to improve the lives of children."
